Priestly Ordination of 32nd Mizo Priest in Aizawl

Deacon Henry Laldinmawia was raised to the Altar today to be the 32nd Mizo Catholic Priest by his Lordship Most Rev. Stephen Rotluanga CSC, Bishop of Aizawl at St. Lawrence Parish Church, Ramthar, Aizawl in the presence of 36 priests, number of religious and faithful.

Rev. Fr. Henry hailed from Muthi village which belongs to Durtlang Parish. He is the eldest of the three children of Mr Calesta Hranghnuna and Mrs Helen Lalṭhazuali.

After his initial studies in his home town, he joined St. Joseph Minor Seminary, Kolasib aspiring to be a priest of the Diocese of Aizawl in 2004. He then did the Spirituality Course in Chabua after the completion of Class XII. He did his Bachelor of Arts and Philosophy studies in Nagpur. He had regency experience in Chhingchhip Parish and in St. Joseph Minor Seminary, Kolasib. He was ordained a Deacon on 23rd June, 2018 at Oriens Theological College, Shillong after the completion of Bachelor of Theology.

The newly ordained priest, the fourth priest from his native village, has chosen as his ordination motto: “For I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.” (John 5:30)
